MAT Europe Internship 2012

Muscle Activation Techniques UK and Europe

MAT will be holding its 2nd European Internship beginning 9 February 2012. The course is being held at the Resistance Institute in Barcelona, Spain and will be taught in English.

The Internship Program consists of six 4-day weekends. This course spans a 7 month period of time, and totals 171 hours of classroom instruction.

Course Content

  • Class One: Greg Roskopf, MAT Founder and Developer, introduces the foundation and science behind MAT. Matthew Bernier, Lead MAT Internship Instructor, will lead the class through the practical portions of the First Module—Lower Extremity. Interns will begin to explore muscle function and biomechanics, with an in-depth look at functional anatomy. Completion of the practical portion of the Module One—Lower Extremity will follow.
  • Class Two: Completion of the practical portion of the Module One—Lower Extremity will take place. Module Two—Upper Extremity begins. Biomechanics of the shoulder girdle will be discussed. Interns will learn to apply techniques specific to the assessment and correction of muscle imbalances in the Upper Extremity. Interns will complete the practical portion of Module 2.
  • Class Three: Completion of the practical portion of Module Two – Upper Extremity will take place. This class also includes a review session for the mid-term examination which will be given during Class #4.
  • Class Four: Mid-term exam is given. The intern’s present skill level in the assessment and correction of muscular imbalances in the Upper/Lower Extremities is evaluated. Module Three— Biomechanics of the Trunk and Spine. The practical application portion of the Trunk and Spine will be started this weekend.
  • Class Five: The practical application portion of Trunk and Spine will be completed this weekend. Module Four— Cervical Spine and Cervical and Accessory Muscles begins. Interns will learn how to assess and correct muscular imbalances in the cervical region.
  • Class Six: The final weekend of the MAT Internship unites all MAT concepts into one systematic approach. Interns will learn the techniques and thought process necessary to evaluate and correct muscle imbalances throughout the entire body. The course concludes with instruction relating MAT principles to the intrinsic muscles of the hand, feet and TMJ.

Muscle Activation Techniques UK

MAT have announced their dates for the next UK Jumpstart in 2011.

The course will be taught by Charlie McMillin and be held at Bristol University and the dates are:

Weekend one: May 20-22nd 2011(3 full days)
Weekend two: June 17-19th 2011 (3 full days)
